Long description: The city with 290.000 inhabitants has a long tradition in being a good place for students. There are six universities with over 40.000 students. Graz was also the Cultural Capital of Europe for 2003, and has one of the best-preserved city centres in Central Europe. In 1999 the city centre of Graz was added to the UNESCO list of World Cultural Heritage Sites.
